Who is a good fit for WSET® classes?

Level 1 Foundation Certificate Course is an appropriate class for anyone with an interest in wine. It is a brief course (total of 6 hours plus the exam) where participants learn about the fundamentals of wine, food and wine pairing and basic wine service. It is a good course to get your feet wet and find out if you'd like to continue and learn more.
For restaurant and wine industry professionals, it is the recommended course for junior restaurant or wine personnel, on their first job in the industry. Basically, anyone who'd like to start with a firm foundation in wine knowledge will benefit from this course.

Students who successfully complete the Level 2 Intermediate Certificate Course will be able to understand the main styles of wines, describe the characteristics of the major grape varieties, apply the principles of food and wine matching to main wine styles and read wine labels from major regions in a way to deduce the styles and characteristics of the wines.
